Logging Into the GLDD Network:
The first time you log into your computer, you may receive a prompt to change your password. Please follow the password guidelines outlined below.
GLDD requires the use of strong and complex passwords. A complex password is one that is a minimum of 16 characters, and contains at least 3 of the following 4 categories:
• Uppercase characters (A - Z)
• Lowercase characters (a - z)
• Numbers (0 - 9)
• Non-alphanumeric (for example: !,$,#, or %)
In addition to the above requirements, there are a few other password policies to be aware of:
• The password cannot contain 3 or more continuous characters from your first or last name.
• You will be required to change your password every 90 days.
• You cannot use the previous 24 passwords. You must create a new and unique password every time.
• Your account will become locked out for 90 minutes if you enter your password incorrectly 5 or more times. The account will unlock automatically after the 90 minutes, or you can call the Help Desk to unlock it immediately.
As always, be sure to keep your passwords secure and confidential. If you choose to write them down, keep them in a secured place, just as you would your cash or credit cards. Do not share your passwords with your colleagues.
